DLC Covers

Post by DarkXess »

Hey guys, I have edited my template so that I can add custom covers for DLC too, what is your opinion on this?
Would you guys actually do such or just cover the default game and done?

Season passes are also set as DLC by default.

This is what I had in mind: https://i.imgur.com/7aLb8cI.png

@PieMonster - is it possible to add DLC on your database with the way the system is setup with game names etc?

I will add it to my covers in future when its DLC content. :)

@DarkXess, a modification like that doesn't alter the template or the Steam bar on top at all. That's entirely within the editable portion of the cover so I have no issue with it at all.

As far as adding "DLC" to the database, I don't think that's going to happen. DLC is integrated into the content of the game its for. As far as I know, there is no way to make a backup of just a game's DLC or Season Pass. Also, why would you want to make a separate backup of a game's DLC and not the entire thing? It just doesn't seem like a good idea.

hehe I understand your point, but me, for instance, would love to see all the more content on my shelf, haha... one thing I don't like about the digital aspect of games these days is that there is no sense of ownership, and as a personal project which I'm willing to share with whoever else wants such then seeing more of these cases on my shelf Vanilla and/or DLC is a plus :D

Anyways, so if I added DLC in future (at least for those who preference it) then for example:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/7166 ... pocalypse/

Would come under Stellaris yes? as you can add the DLC title's name? I can accept that

You can create your covers however you like as long as your art doesn't overlap the template borders or the Steam top. So if you wanted to make a cover for the DLC of Stellaris that's fine. I have no issues with that. The only thing to be aware of is that it'll still be filed under main game and not as a separate DLC.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. Are you referring to having a sperate listing for each DLC under the "Browse Covers" page or are you asking for a separate divider for DLC under each game? For example, Bully Scholarship Edition: http://www.steamgamecovers.com/covers/b ... ip-edition has dividers for disc covers, case covers, and soundtrack covers. Are you asking for the option to add another divider for DLC? That may be doable because it'll still fall under the main game.

hehe yup you misunderstood me mate, sorry.

When (browsing covers) for example you will see the game (Stellaris) right? then under that you should as it's in alphabetical order have (Stellaris: Apocalypse) IF I were to submit this DLC https://store.steampowered.com/app/7166 ... pocalypse/

That should and would be like that with all DLC submitted items yes? that's what I meant :)

I was just asked as I didn't know if DLC content would work on your system like that.

And also yea totally understood about the template and things not altering how it should be by default :)
