Steam Game Covers

I just wanted to give everyone a few printing tips for our covers.

DISC Labels ONLY - you may want to adjust the size and location of your labels to fit into whichever disc printing software you use. Typically, you can just slide the image to fit the printable area. You shouldn't have to scale anything unless you printable surface is smaller than the disc art.

CD/DVD Covers - when printing, make sure you DO NOT scale the images. Print everything at 100% scaling (or no scaling depending upon your settings). All images are uploaded at 300dpi and require no adjustments to fit comfortably in your cases.

DVD Covers ONLY - you may have to use paper longer than 8.5x11 to print DVD case artwork unless your printer supports borderless printing. Once again, do not adjust the scaling properties for proper prints.

First i would like to say hello, obviously I'm new. I stumbled upon this site via Fatale steam forum and became interested in a steam back-up collection. now that is out of the way i have a quick question about labeling.

I'm working with Lightscribe here and using Lightscrible Template Labeler. when the template is loaded and fitted it seems to cut of the episode part seen here:

What would be the right way to go about correcting it? or is it with the program itself that is causing the problem?

Hi BBN, welcome to Steam Covers! It's good to hear from a fellow LightScribe label printer.

There are several options you can use to correct your issue. The first thing you must understand is that not all of the labels on this site are guarnteed to be "LightScribe" safe. "Sticky" labels give you slighly more disc surface and "Direct-to-Disc" printers almost go up to the hole! It's up to the individual artist to define the art's boundarys.

What I would try is to zoom or shift the image (in your label software, of course) to try to get it to fit. It looks like there is plenty of blank space on the sides of that HL cover so you might be able to get away with this. Give it a shot and let us know what happens.

Thank you, i actually got it to fit properly! silly me i didn't play with the options enough to realize what i was doing wrong when all i had to do was zoom in the right size after fitting/center. I just kept zooming in to 1 size only instead. I'll post the results of the final CD in 4 days or so because I have to order a new pack of discs D~:
