I was curious, not knowing much about the legal side of this, if Steam Covers could get in trouble for taking donations? I was wandering considering almost, if not, all user content is made up of other companies resources.
Or is this kind of like the rowdy image boards where some how a legal line is drawn where the owners are not responsible for what the users upload? I would think with you being the owner of the site and having uploaded images, that would remove that option.

Re: Donations - Can Steam Covers Get In Trouble?
Hi Zeathy, It's illegal for me to charge for any of the content on Steam Covers because I am not the copyright owner. Everything on this site is completely FREE to all users and I don't even have "nag" screens/pop-ups asking you to "click here" before you download a cover.
As far as donations are concerned, that's completely voluntary and not illegal. Those donations go towards server costs and software/hardware that I need to keep the site running NOT for the content. I hope this answers your question.
